Opened in the early 1970s, the Live Oaks Career Campus serves Clermont County and the eastern portion of the Great Oaks district, and was renovated to carry the community’s career-technical education needs into the future.
What it included
First phase
The first phase of improvements included a nearly 200,000 sq ft interior renovation and a new 7,500 sq ft entry addition with site improvements and an exterior refresh. The new entry cuts through the existing building with an angular form, bringing light into a shared double-height common space and reinforcing security, with the administration suite flanking the vestibule to filter guests when doors are locked during the day. Features of the project included:
- A new circular drive for better parking and traffic flow
- A second campus entrance at Rt. 28
- Academic classes clustered on the second floor
- Similar career labs located adjacent to each other for future academy planning
- New classrooms developed from under-used space
- A building designed for future growth as new programs are added
