After serving the State of Ohio for thirty years, Mike Mendenhall founded MCS & Associates, Ltd. for the purpose of assisting schools and other public entities with construction and facilities management. Mike spent more than a decade working for the State of Ohio in construction management. While working for the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission, Mike spent nearly ten years as a member of the Executive Management Team, managing hundreds of school projects. Mike's roles enabled him to be on-site at hundreds of co-funded projects, and play an integral role in the procurement of, and execution of design, construction, and commissioning services. Additionally, Mike has served as Owner's Representative/Owner's Agent for districts throughout Ohio and is responsible for more than $500 million in construction and renovation work.

Jason is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of Ohio with twenty-five years of government auditing and accounting experience. He has been with MCS & Associates since 2018, serving as the company's CFO and has worked at his own accounting firm, J.L. Uhrig & Associates, for over twenty-five years. Jason completed his education in Accounting and Finance at The Ohio State University in 1995. He was hired by J.L. Uhrig & Associates shortly after graduating, promoted to Supervisor in 2001, promoted to Audit Manager in 2003, and then became Principal Owner in 2004. Jason is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA), and the Association of Government Accountants (AGA). Jason has over twenty-five years experience performing fieldwork, reviewing, managing, and providing technical support for school audits. Jason is also experienced in planning audits, performing control/substantive testing, and performing single audit testing for major federal programs.

Justin joined MCS & Associates in 2019 as a project manager and to design, develop and maintain the company's website and social media platforms. Prior to joining the company, Justin worked at the Department of Energy's (DOE) Decommissioning & Decontamination Project in Piketon, Ohio. Justin was a member of the Non-Destructive Assay (NDA) Department, performing field measurements for potential high-assay uranium deposits. Justin was hired in 2014 as an NDA Technician and was promoted to NDA Specialist in 2016. As an NDA technician, Justin gained experience performing field measurements in contaminated spaces, operating heavy equipment & machinery, and developing policies & procedures. Once promoted to NDA Specialist, Justin was responsible the department's database of records and measurements, developing i-Pad applications for field measurements and working with management to create safer, more efficient ways to complete measurements in contaminated areas.

For almost 20 years, Holly has worked with schools and other public entities on capital planning and construction projects. Her work has included various roles as a construction manager/consultant for the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC) & an owner's representative. Holly specializes in multi-stakeholder projects and helps owners navigate an average of $250 million in construction projects every three years. Holly joined MCS & Associates in 2021 as our Chief Operating Officer.

Kyle joined MCS & Associates in 2021 as a project manager. Kyle comes to the organization having spent the last 14 years working in public education, most recently in the role of Assistant Superintendent. As a former district administrator, Kyle brings a wealth of PK-12 knowledge to the table to help districts make informed decisions about business operations and construction management. From managing personnel and building mutually beneficial relationships with stakeholders, to navigating permanent improvement dollars and general capital management best-practices, Kyle’s investment in people as a means of impacting kids, schools, and the communities they serve is truly his life’s work and passion.

Nick joined MCS & Associates in 2021 as a project manager. He has spent the past 23 years at Kenworth Truck Company, working in a variety of managerial and leadership roles. His first 17 years were spent managing the contract transportation of JIT material from across North America to point of assembly in southern Ohio. He has spent the past 6 years managing the material flow and as a senior level production manager.
Prior to Kenworth, Nick spent 10 years in operations management with asset based carriers FedEx Ground and Consolidated Freightways. A career filled with transportation, logistics, operations and production management experience, Nick specializes in goal attainment through process development and continuous improvement.
