After its bond levy passed in May of 2019, Northridge Local School District set out to build a new PK-5 elementary school and renovate its existing high school and middle school in a single program.
What we did
MCS entered at the program of requirements, before design, and represented the district through a Construction Manager at Risk delivery across all three projects.
The renovations were delivered around students in two occupied buildings while the new PK-5 went up on a vacant site. All three projects finished on time and on budget.
What it included
PK-5 School
The new PK-5 building is 80,500 sq ft with three preschool classrooms and four classrooms per grade level from kindergarten through 5th grade, plus flexible space for special education and gifted services, spaces for art and music, and a new media center. It consolidated students from the old Northridge Primary School (K-3) and Northridge Intermediate School (4-5) into one location southeast of the high school on the same Johnstown-Utica Rd. campus.
High School renovations
Renovations to the existing high school building, including plumbing improvements, exterior door renovation and interior renovations, completed while the building stayed in use.
Middle School renovations
The same scope carried through the middle school: plumbing improvements, exterior door renovation and interior renovations, delivered around an occupied building.
